How Many Numbers Does it Take to Scare the MPAA?
by Merv Burger on May.02, 2007, under General
24, to be exact. Or, 12 pairs of hexadecimal numbers.
Specifically, the 12 pairs that is the software key to the AACS encryption scheme on nearly all HD-DVD and Blu-Ray discs produced up to, what we can hope, today.
While I won’t go into specifics, I just find this all very hilarious at how it blew up under the industry who were trying so hard to cover up any reference to the key. I also won’t put the number here, but it isn’t very hard to find, simply going to Digg is just enough.
So much for the DMCA?
